Striders 10k Homebush - 6th Jan 2010

Saturday saw the 1st run the Striders 10k series that saw 5 of the group venture out to Homebush on a wet and miserable morning that kept Luke safely away. Despite this there were some good times run with Kirst leading the charges home in 43.41 minutes, and a great first up for “Monsieur John” as he prepares for his Paris assault in April

Kirsten 43.41

Kristian 46.07

Michael 49.31

Monsieur John 49.45 (PB)

Graham 52.35

Next race - North Head Manly the 1st Sat March.

Striders 10k Lane Cove 5th July 2009

First up was Saturday morning’s Striders 10k run out at Olympic Park Homebush where the first surprise of the weekend was with the appearance of Luke and Ian Depree? Kristy was also there making her Striders debut coming home in a great time of 48.51 after telling me earlier that she thought she would run 53 or 54 minutes???

Ian 45.16 (still didn’t beat the 45 min pacer though – So wish I’d run now)

Luke 46.15

Kristy 48.51(PB)

Gold Coast Half/10k 5th July 2009

And so it was north the group headed to the Sunny Gold Coast, and with some great preparation from all leading to the race I was quietly confident of some good times – BUT what I didn’t expect were Personal Best times from everyone in the Half Marathon? First home in a super fast time of sub 87 minutes was new boy Pete in only his 2nd ever half, knocking 6 minutes of his previous run., Soon followed by Kristian and Kate both flying home sub 100 minutes for the 1st time and then to complete a perfect day Donna storms home in under her projected time of 1hr50 minutes – Happy Days for all J

Naomi was never going to be left on the sidelines and made a last minute dash to compete in her first 10k for months and breezed home in under 45 minutes with a second to spare.

From the later Tuesday group it was great to see Michael smash the 100 minute barrier as well coming home in 1hr 37.55 and Allen and Andre just outside the 2 hour mark after suffering from head colds and bad backs in the lead up?

Pete 1hr 26.59 (PB)

Kristian 1hr 36.48 (PB)

Michael 1hr 37.55 (PB)

Kate 1hr 39.22 (PB)

Donna 1hr 48.35 (PB)

Allen 2hr

Andre 2hr.08 minutes

Naomi 44.59

Love to report on the after party as well BUT as they say ‘What goes on tour stays on tour’ but the truth be known after the girls plied me with shots I don’t remember to muchJ What I can say though is what a top weekend it was and one that you should ALL be penciling in your diary for 2010.

THE APOLOGY – Must be made to Kristian immediate family who came and supported him and were probably expecting to see his training colleagues for a quiet afternoon and were subjected to a rather loud and boisterous party scene, We might have got away with it if it hadn’t been for Peter storming the stage and giving us his best Michael Jackson moon dance walkJ

City to Surf is only 5 weeks away and hopefully by now you will ALL have your entries in (Kate?).

See you all at training and remember all outstanding fees are now due as we enter the 2nd week.

Any problems please just drop me an email

Thanks

PS, Special mention to our support crew Kelly Ashton who made the trip north and got a PB to her name as well – On the number of Red Wines consumed in the afternoon, and to Kate as well who kindly brought the group dinner on Sunday to make sure that we were well feed – Two Bowls of Potato WedgesJ
